There are four known sites of the shallow reefs of Grand Bahama Island, Silver Reef, Sanctuary Reef, Treasure Reef and fish farm.
• The second line of reef is about 50-60 meters deep. This reef consists of scattered coral heads rise from a sandy bottom. This depth and location offers a nice dive with lots to explore, both in the sand, marine life in coral and looking under rocks. Sites at this depth include Angel Camp Badger and the chamber.
• The deep reef line ranges from about 60 feet -90 feet. as deep and shallow reefs, is a solid mass reef that runs along the island. There are few places where canals have been filled to increase and formed into a complex maze of canyons and tunnels to explore. However, given the depth and the canyons and tunnels may be used only experienced divers in deep reefs. The most popular sites on deep reefs Gail Cave include Lair Littlehales, and Cave of pygmies.

My wife and I are taking a cruise on Norwegian Cruise Lines. One stop is Grand Bahama. What we do for the day we are there? Which shore excursion is the best? If we skip shore excursions and just take a taxi somewhere. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

hm .. so .. scuba diving or just chilling on the beach. im guessing the boat will be docked at the Port Lucaya and if you walk through the Port Lucaya unsexo beside it is the best diving, swimming with dolphins, snorkel and place. or go to the beach at our Lucaya (which is at Port Lucaya side) have jet skis, parasailing. But I say stay in the area of Port Lucaya. to search a small tour bus instead of a yellow cab (it's less expensive and more secure). other places to go are Lucaya National Park, the garden of the groves, and the experience of dolphins. i do not recommend driving the island, because there are dangerous neighborhoods around. fun, and hope you enjoy ur stay
