Traveling with children - A handbook for parents

Instead of deciding to leave the child home for the next "family" vacation, relax! You can make traveling with kids an enjoyable and stress free by following these simple tips:

1. Whenever possible, travel at night and let children to sleep. But be careful, because it is easy to get tired. If you are getting sleepy, roll down the windows, play music, or better yet, find a safe place to stop and take a nap of 20 minutes.

2. Plan your trip during the day, with stops every 90 minutes. By planning ahead, using the travel planning software, online sites and travel planning travel associations, you can find - and stop at - kid-friendly places such as parks with playgrounds, historic monuments and see the areas where you can get out and walk for several minutes. Give children an even break of 15 minutes given the opportunity to "The Wiggles get out" and work off some energy.

Depending on the space you have and the amount of time you have left, each child can have its own box or backpack, to keep their things organized and accessible.

6. If the trip will include a lot of sightseeing, pack a backpack with sweaters, hats, swimsuits (if in season), extra socks and towels, even if someone gets wet - accidentally or on purpose. Keep the backpack in the trunk, so that only you can lift and go. Most children, if given the chance, when near water, I really enjoy getting wet, and saves wear on your vehicle if you plan ahead. Also be sure to pack extra water and Travel snacks like energy bars, nuts or a mixture of travel. You may add to the enjoyment of your child if you also include things such as a magnifying glass, binoculars, disposable camera and your own travel map.

7. Include the activity of a child "to" at least once a day. This can be something as simple as going for ice cream after visiting a museum, or go to a water or amusement park. Often, there are lots of free or low cost in most places in the States USA. To find them, you can check in advance with local chambers of commerce, web sites of the city, or your travel agent. To help keep expenses down, do not forget to check "two for one" coupons and discount tickets are often available at local fast food or local newspapers. In addition, many family-style restaurants offering a "kids eat free" night, which could be a special gift.

8. Do not forget games travel probably played as a child. Postcards are also a great addition to your photo album of the family after the trip. You can cut, or even write about experiences concrete in the back of them, to help everyone remember what he did and where you were.

11. Create a scrapbook at the end of each trip, using the cards postcards and photographs of children taken. Let's help decorate and put the magazine together is a fun activity after-the trip.
